Is 24 Hours Not Enough for you?
As far back as 1910 the author Arnold Bennett wrote about living on 24 hours a day. Nothing has changed since – the reality is you have all the time there is, always have and always will.
Please don’t shoot the messenger. I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know. As we fast approach the end of quarter one how are you feeling about the year so far? Achieving all you want?
If you yourself set a target for the year are you on plan? The year will pass regardless of what you do or don’t do.
Time. Time is your most precious of possessions. How are you spending it?
As Arnold Bennett so eloquently wrote “the supply of time is truly a daily miracle, an affair genuinely astonishing when one examines it. You wake up in the morning, and lo! Your purse is magically filled with twenty-four hours of the unmanufactured tissue of the universe of your life!
It is yours. It is the most precious of possessions. A highly singular commodity, showered upon you in a manner as singular as the commodity itself! For remark! No one can take it from you. It is unstealable. And no one receives either more or less than you receive.
You have to live on this twenty-four hours of daily time. Out of it you have to spin health, pleasure, money, content, respect, and the evolution of your immortal soul. Its right use, its most effective use, is a matter of the highest urgency and most thrilling actuality. All depends on that.
Your happiness – the elusive prize that you are all clutching for, my friend! – depends on that.”
So there you have it; 24 hours each day for you to use as you see fit. Your choice. No one can steal it from you.
- Are you truly living your twenty-four hours a day?
